The Lake Artists Society Annual Exhibition 2021 is now open!  This is the first time in 75 years that it has not been held at Grasmere Village Hall, but the beautiful Gallery at Rheged Cumbria has done it proud.  I’m delighted to have my two paintings “Seeds of Change” and “Persephone” (above) on display. There are  260 artworks by members of The Lake Artists Society and other selected artists living in Cumbria. The Lake Artists Society has been in existence for 116 years, and its summer exhibition is always keenly anticipated! It’s evident that a lot of hard work and thought has been put into this exhibition by LAS members and the staff at Rheged.

At Rheged you’ll find a recently refurbished and remodelled cafe, deli, giant-screen cinema, creative classes, meeting spaces and quality shops. Check out their website for details, but retail includes clothing, home, lifestyle, toys, British artisans and ethical brands.  You can even book a beauty treatment! In case you’re wondering, “Rheged” refers to one the kingdoms of the Hen Ogledd (“Old North”) now Northern England & Southern Scotland, in post-Roman to Middle ages times.

Catch the exhibition from 18th September – 21st November 2021 , 9am-5.30pm.
