Prizewinner at The Lake Artists Society Summer Exhibition 2022!

So pleased that my painting “Heartstrings” has been given the Youdells painting award at the Lake Artists Summer Exhibition! https://lakeartists.org.uk/     The exhibition opens Sat 30th July – Wed 7th September 10.30 am -4.30pm at the village hall in beautiful Grasmere in the English Lake District. I’m honoured to be exhibiting with some of the region’s finest artists, and this year, the exhibition has a fresh new look which enhances the artworks, so do come and visit!

Grasmere is famous for being home and inspiration for (amongst others) romantic poets & siblings Dorothy and William Wordsworth, and also Samuel Taylor Coleridge. The Wordsworths were said to crave the local speciality, Grasmere gingerbread, which is still made to a secret recipe dating back to the 19th century. The contemporary performance poet John Cooper Clarke had a rather less romantic view of the Lake District 😂 and you can still catch his first impressions online, in clips from the BBC series Secret Life of Books: Confessions of an English Opium Eater.https://www.bbc.co.uk

There is much to make a visit to this village worthwhile, including the newly refurbished  Wordsworth Grasmere  and lots of fantastic fell walks. And of course a gem of an art exhibition!
